While we are all going to start by experimenting with all the roles on the newspaper staff, I do want you to find YOUR place in the class. Please take a moment to let me know what you THINK you would like to pursue in journalism. You may put down more than one area of interest and what you think your strengths are in those areas.
Some stuff. Some really good stuff.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure exactly what I want to do. Maybe sports, or big events like homecoming and stuff. And maybe I could write reviews of theater preformances
ReplyDeleteI think I will do best conducting interviews. Photography is also something I could do as well.
ReplyDeleteIm not quite sure but i think i would be good at opinionated pieces. i also think it would be fun to do some sports articles also.
ReplyDeleteUhhhhhhhh...i dont know. XD
ReplyDeleteMaybe some photography, or interviewing. I like to get people's opinions. Especially about things in the school (Seeing as how i have a few of my own), but yeah.
I'm not 100% sure yet, but I think something with photography would be great. I would love to avoid interviews as much as possible. I get nervous when it comes to talking to people I don't know. Since i am in JROTC, i could cover the events (parades, competitions, etc) with no problem. That would be perfect for me.
ReplyDeleteWell I'm not big on the whole writing thing. I love to read and ok at photography. So I assume thats where I would be most helpful in the newspaper. I went to thinking about a name for the paper and was wondering whether we are going to too stick to a formal name with chronicle, standard, and constitution in it or are we going to create a name that is orignal?
ReplyDeleteI would be good doing a political section and maybe photography
ReplyDeleteI know there are a lot of great poets/writers in our school. I am not so bad myself at poetry. That could be an idea. Just throwing that out there. :]
ReplyDeleteI think an opinion column would be my more favorable to write. Not only is there a side to every issue, but I also like hearing what people have to say about the matter. Ever consider a rave section? Or shoutouts? Something to that effect. Jennifer's idea about the poets/writers is genius (:
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what I would say is my "strongest" point is, but I'm definitely up for trying whatever. I like to be more creative though, if that clarifies anything.
ReplyDeleteI like Angel's Idea about a shout out section.
:]
I think I would be best at interviews, photography, and writing about current events at EHS.
ReplyDeleteWhat about a fashion section? Probably a large amount of the students at EHS are fashion-forward, so they might enjoy reading about that. Also, I am not big on sports at all...so assigning me on a sports article would definitely NOT be a good idea. Haha.
ReplyDeleteI like Jennifer's idea as well. It would be cool to create an art section too. I'm in Ceramics, so I could find a few who are really talented at what they do. In addition, a music section would be awesome.
As for the title...how about 'Applause'? All of us at EHS are good at doing *something*...we deserve a standing ovation, right??
Just throwing that out there. Dunno if it makes any sense. Sounds original to me.
I think that my strongest place in a newspaper would be in sports.I enjoy going to almost ever sports event the school has to offer.
ReplyDeleteI think I would be the strongest in writing pieces that concern student life or anything concerning social aspects. What are our biggest fears? What do you want to change most about the world? How bad does lack of sleep affect your day? Do you think the standards teachers hold us to are too high? Questions of those nature and experimenting the answers would be something I would really enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI think a newspaper can be really great...when it is informative and accurate. Let's strive to that and MORE!! :)
I would like to do a gaming section in the paper like new games about what people think about games and why people care so much about games.
ReplyDeleteI think i would like to do something in the area of a comic strip. I love to draw. Or maybe something like an advice column, if that doesn't sound weird. but i think that would be cool.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking about joining journalism class next year. This class sounds fun and exciting!!!
